Big carpark, warm greeting from the lady behind the reception who was covering for the receptionist who then checked me in with all info given.
No lift ,stairs had a funny smell and slightly in the corridor but not in the room .
Room was a good size as was the bathroom
Bed really comfortable had a good night sleep.
Shower was hot and powerful.
WiFi wasn't very good
Evening meal was OK not a huge choice to choose from the portion size was a bit small chunky chips were French fries !
Breakfast not included but was 13.95 to add on way overpriced for a Breakfast!
No paths leading out of the hotel and its a busy country road so no running for me but the grounds are large so nice little walk around.
Didn't know it was a spa there until I left !
Would I stay again and recommend probably yes 👍.

The staff at this hotel were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was quiet which was perfect for us, lovely setting and rooms were good, albeit on the small size ( particularly bathroom) for a top end room that we had. However the balcony rooms have fab views over the gardens and the balcony is really a large decking area, which is great. The hotel has reopened under new management it seems, a limited bar menu was available at time of our stay although brasserie open from time to time apararently but they are happy for you to order food in, in these circumstances. There was a good breakfast and the pastries were excellent.

This hotel is advertising a fitness centre on all third party sites. They only included the information about it being closed AFTER you have booked.

The fitness suite has been shut since 2019 and despite this the hotel has been actively advertising on Google and other sites that it has a fully working fitness centre which is purposefully deceptive. Other reviewers have said the same.

On the rest of the hotel. It is generally tired and in need of renovation. It certainly is not up to standard. During my stay cleaners in outside work clothes (including camouflage pattern trousers) were walking in and out of the kitchen during breakfast service and were making themselves tea and coffee in the guest restaurant.

Overall there is a lack of cleanliness and maintenance to decor. The staff are friendly but helpless as the general manager controls the advertising.

Not a place I would recommend or stay at again.

We stayed here for one night this weekend as a birthday getaway - I struggle to see what other people can complain about. Staff were friendly, efficient & well presented. Batman was knowledgeable and happy to make anything I wanted. All info was given at check in, we knew when breakfast etc was.
The room was clean, warm and welcoming, the balcony was a lovely addition & I can imagine would be lovely in summer. The view didn’t disappoint for a hotel in this price range either.
We didn’t have breakfast or dinner sadly but the food all looked lovely!
Being a birthday surprise they had arranged a birthday cake in the room, rose petals & gave me a choice of check in times to suit us.
All in all we will 100% be back again.

recently stayed at this hotel for a business trip and was blown away by the level of service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that all of my needs were met and that I had everything I needed to be productive. The room was comfortable and quiet, which made for a great night's sleep. I would definitely stay here again.

Good basic hotel. Clean tidy and reasonable breakfast. Very helpful staff. Good car parking. Helpfully the bar stays open until very late. Rooms are clean and warm although not very big but then for the price perfectly what you would expect.
